Unlocked

There are two objects I like to paint a lot of. Keys, and Teapots. I really set those objects aside though and force myself to paint things I suck at painting. For instance, my shortcomings are ellipses and well. . just not spending enough time drafting. Ironically, for the last three or so books, the daily paintings have been completely eliminating the pencil preliminary in lieu of direct observation. Sometimes, for certain things I'm just better at PAINTING something than I am DRAWING. A lot of artists would probably say that's horrible. Lately my drawings and paintings have become slightly separate, i draw in my sketchbooks a lot, but i render and draw loosely, and my paintings involve no drawing underneath. This series has helped show me what I need to work on as well as strengthen the things I'm good at. One step at a time really, and it goes even faster when u take a step every day.
