This is kinda ironic in retrospect that I painted this - its from Starbucks. As all of you in the know know, I was fired from that place - for being late once. Yes once. Anyway, I really liked the company, but well. . .I'm kinda jaded about it. Especially since at my new job I'm able to uphold the coffee shop mentality way better than I was at Starbucks. Also, Starbucks is raising its prices by 9 cents, which may not sound like a lot to you, but keep in mind, a "tall" or small cup (12 oz) cup of coffee will now range around $1.98. That's two bucks for a small cup of coffee. TWO DOLLARS.
Anyway, so the explanation is that I love glass, I love the way these broken shot glasses look, so I saved them instead of throwing them away. I think they have so much personality. Also, I'm tempted to do it with other things, but then I feel like. . shit I bought that I don't wanna break it. If I attended the art institute, I could reason that the fractured self of the shot glass represents the fractured psyche of both myself, my opinion on Starbucks, as well as the contrast between philosophies and practices in said company. But I'm not. So its just a shot glass. A shot glass with character just like you and I.
